CPI(M) Pays Tribute to Departed Leaders🔻 Comrades Iqbal Da and Santosh Ghosh Remembered at Safdar Hashmi Hall in Ranchi



Ranchi— The Communist Party of India (Marxist) organized a solemn tribute meeting on Sunday in memory of two of its senior and dedicated state secretariat members—Comrade Iqbal Da, also known as Master Da, and Comrade Santosh Ghosh. The event took place at Safdar Hashmi Auditorium in Ranchi, where party workers, supporters, and representatives from mass organizations paid heartfelt homage to the departed leaders.

🔹 The program began with floral tributes and garlanding of the portraits of both comrades.🔹 The meeting was presided over by CPI(M) Ranchi (West) District Secretary Comrade Prafulla Linda.🔹 The event was moderated by senior party leader Comrade Sameer Das.

Lifelong Fighters for People's Movements
Comrade Iqbal Da was a well-known people's leader in the Santhal Pargana region, where he tirelessly organized bidi workers and stone industry laborers. He was a consistent voice for workers' rights and always stood at the forefront of mass struggles.
Comrade Santosh Ghosh, a retired Indian Army personnel who later worked at DVC, became deeply involved in organizing transport and construction workers in the Dhanbad coalfields. His life, too, was a reflection of dedication, struggle, and service to the working class.
 
"Fulfilling Their Unfinished Work is Our Responsibility" — Prakash Viplav

Addressing the gathering, CPI(M) State Secretary Comrade Prakash Viplav said:
"The lives of Comrades Iqbal and Santosh Ghosh teach us that ideology, struggle, and service to the people define a true revolutionary. Their legacy is not just a memory, but a responsibility. The most meaningful tribute we can offer them is by continuing their unfinished work."
He added that the land of Jharkhand has always produced revolutionaries who rise above personal interests to fight for the masses.

 Other Leaders Share Their Thoughts
The meeting was also addressed by Comrade Sukhnath Lohra, CITU leader Comrade Anirban Bose, AIDWA’s Comrade Veena Linda, and from the state committee, Comrades Amal Azad and Sudhanshu Shekhar. All speakers emphasized that the committed and struggle-filled lives of these comrades will remain an integral part of the collective memory of Jharkhand’s working people.

 A Tribute Through Resolve
In conclusion, all present reaffirmed their commitment to carrying forward the legacy and struggles of the departed comrades. A large number of party workers, labor representatives, and youth participated in the program.
