RANCHI::The historic institution Anjuman Islamia, Ranchi, established by India’s first Education Minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, is once again in the spotlight. Scheduled for November 16, the electoral battle is heating up, with fresh contestants ready to challenge the status quo amid renewed controversy.

Clash Over Convenor’s Appointment

While Chief Election Convenor Qamar Siddiqui has officially rolled out the election schedule, President Mukhtar Ahmad has declared his appointment invalid, arguing that—per Bylaw Section 25—such decisions require the president’s formal approval. Ahmad has cited a 2021 letter from former president Mohd. Ibrar, along with communications addressed to General Secretary Dr. Mohd. Tariq, to reinforce his claim.
