Ranchi: Marking Doctors' Day, members of the "Lahu Bolega" Blood Donation Organisation, Ranchi, along with the Jharkhand Thalassemia, Sickle Cell Anaemia, Haemophilia and Aplastic Anaemia Patients' Association, honoured 15 doctors on Wednesday in recognition of their dedicated service to patients suffering from blood disorders and other life-threatening diseases.
Patients, their family members, social workers and voluntary blood donors expressed their gratitude by presenting the doctors with traditional Jharkhandi shawls, bouquets and mementos as a token of appreciation for their commitment, compassion and selfless service.
Those honoured included Ranchi Civil Surgeon Dr Prabhat Kumar, Ranchi Sadar Hospital Deputy Superintendent Dr Bimlesh Singh, Haematologist and Day Care In-charge Dr Khushboo Praveen, Dr Stephen Khais, the Haematology Department team, the Blood Bank staff and the Pathology Department of Ranchi Sadar Hospital.
The organisers said the "Doctors Sahab Ka Aabhar Abhiyan" (Doctors' Gratitude Campaign) will continue from July 1 to July 3, during which more doctors serving in different healthcare institutions will be felicitated for their contribution to patient care.
Among those present at the programme were Nadeem Khan, Sanjay Toppo, Sanjay Mahto, Devki Devi, Seema Devi, Shanti Devi, Sogni Mahto, Neelu Toppo, Sonam Kumari, Sajda Ansari, Anish Toppo, Shiv Kumar Mahto, Sourav Kumar Mahto, social worker Ruby Praveen, Suraiya Parveen, along with several patients, their family members and volunteers.
