125 patients and family members visit JSCA International Stadium and Dhurwa Dam; Civil Surgeon flags off buses
Ranchi: In an effort to bring joy and encouragement to children suffering from blood disorders and other chronic illnesses, a state-level picnic and excursion programme was organized on Sunday under the joint aegis of Lahu Bolega Blood Donation Organization, Ranchi and the Jharkhand Thalassemia Patients Association. As part of the initiative, 125 patients, their family members and voluntary blood donors were taken on a special visit to the JSCA International Cricket Stadium and Dhurwa Dam.
The participants were flagged off from the Ranchi Sadar Hospital premises by Ranchi Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar. The event was attended by DPM Ranchi, Father Mahendra Peter Tigga, Director of Hoffman Khunti, a team of doctors from Sadar Hospital, and a large number of patients and their family members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prabhat Kumar said that such programmes provide much-needed emotional support and motivation to children battling blood disorders and their families. He appreciated the efforts of Lahu Bolega Blood Donation Organization for continuously undertaking humanitarian initiatives for the welfare of patients. He also wished the children good health and happiness.
During the excursion, the participants spent nearly three hours at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium, where they explored the facilities and learned about various aspects of the game. Later, they visited Dhurwa Dam and enjoyed its scenic surroundings.
The children and their family members described the outing as a memorable and once-in-a-lifetime experience. Many said they had never imagined getting an opportunity to visit the iconic JSCA Stadium and Dhurwa Dam as part of a collective recreational programme. They expressed gratitude to the organizers for bringing happiness and excitement into their lives.
The organizers thanked JSCA President Ajaynath Shahdeo, Vice-President Sanjay Pandey, Secretary Saurabh Tiwari, Joint Secretary Shahbaz Nadeem, Treasurer Amitava Ghosh, and other office-bearers and members for extending a warm welcome to the participants at the stadium. Special appreciation was also expressed to Jharkhand State Minority Commission Vice-Chairman Jyoti Singh Matharu, the Ranchi Gurdwara Management Committee, and Guru Gobind Singh Public School for providing buses for the excursion.
Participants from Ranchi Urban, Ranchi Rural, Khunti, Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Bokaro and Purulia district of West Bengal took part in the programme. Several voluntary blood donors and social workers, including Nadeem Khan, Sanjay Toppo, Pandit Ajit Mishra, Sister Rajni Ekka, Seema Kachhap, Suresh Munda, Powell Kumar, Farehya Bilkis, Rafiq Ansari, Pragati Prakash, Mohammad Babbar, Shabbir Hussain, Akram Rashid and Buland Akhtar, were also present.
Participants said the excursion was not only a recreational activity but also a source of inspiration, confidence and emotional strength, helping them face life's challenges with renewed hope and positivity.
