President Droupadi Murmu to Visit Jamshedpur on February 26, to Lay Foundation Stone of Spiritual Education Centre

Ranchi/Jamshedpur: President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will visit Jamshedpur on February 26. During her visit, she will perform the bhoomi pujan and lay the foundation stone of the Sri Jagannath Temple and the Sri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Education Centre.

This information was shared by trustee S.K. Behra of the Sri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre Trust.

According to the Trust, the Sri Jagannath Temple and the spiritual centre will be constructed near Marine Drive. Trustee Behra stated that the project will not be limited to being a religious place alone, but will also be developed as a spiritual and cultural study centre aimed at the educational growth of students and the younger generation.

He further informed that the spiritual education centre will be constructed first, followed by the construction of a grand stone temple spread across approximately 2.5 acres. The temple’s architecture and craftsmanship are expected to be remarkable, giving a new boost to religious tourism in Jharkhand.

Behra also mentioned that the land for the project was allotted during the period when Smt. Murmu served as the Governor of Jharkhand. The construction of the temple is estimated to take around four years to complete.

During the foundation stone-laying ceremony, the President will also address the gathering. Several dignitaries, including Jharkhand Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, will be present on the occasion.

Notably, this will be President Murmu’s second visit to Jharkhand after assuming office. Earlier, she had attended the closing ceremony of the centenary year of the Santali Olchiki script in Karandih.
