Ranchi: A significant meeting with representatives of the Buddhist community was held at the office of the Jharkhand State Minority Commission. The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Vice Chairman, Mr. Jyoti Singh Matharu, who briefed the members of the Buddhist community about various welfare schemes being implemented for minorities in the state of Jharkhand.
He provided detailed information about key schemes, including the Chief Minister Employment Scheme, the process of granting minority status to institutions, Minority Hostels, education loans for higher studies through the Guruji Credit Card scheme, and the Marang Gomke Scholarship Scheme for pursuing education abroad. He encouraged the community members to avail themselves of the benefits of these schemes.
During the meeting, eminent members of the Buddhist community urged the government to construct a stupa of Lord Buddha and a Buddhist museum at Itkhori in Chatra district. They also requested that Itkhori be connected to the Buddhist Circuit.
In response, the Hon’ble Vice Chairman assured that he would visit Itkhori soon and take appropriate steps in this regard. The representatives of the Buddhist community expressed their happiness over the assurance and pledged their full cooperation to the government for the successful implementation of these initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Rahul Ratan, Buddhist monk Bhante Sanghpal, Bhante Sushilpal, Dr. S. S. Chaudhary, Sanjeev Ji, and other distinguished persons.
