BSL Launches ‘Sanjeevani’ Health Insurance Scheme; Priya Ranjan Calls It a Protective Shield for Contract Workers

Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on January 12, 2026, launched the ‘Sanjeevani’ Group Health Insurance Scheme, with Director In-Charge Priya Ranjan inaugurating the initiative at a programme held in the Learning and Development Department. He described the scheme as a strong protective shield aimed at ensuring the health security and overall well-being of contract workers.

Priya Ranjan said the initiative reflects BSL’s commitment to inclusive and humane workplace practices, particularly for skilled and highly skilled contract workers who remain outside ESIC coverage. He expressed confidence that the scheme would significantly boost the morale and sense of security among the contract workforce.

Under the ‘Sanjeevani’ scheme, around 7,000 contract workers will receive health insurance coverage of up to ₹4 lakh for inpatient treatment and ₹1,500 for outpatient care for one year. The scheme is being implemented through Bokaro Welfare Trust with insurance coverage provided by Bajaj General Insurance Limited.
