New Delhi/Ranchi::Minister of State for Defence, Shri Sanjay Seth, warmly welcomed Russia’s Defence Minister, Mr. Andrei Belousov, upon his arrival in India early this morning in New Delhi. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan was also present on the occasion.
During his India visit, the Russian Defence Minister will participate in an important meeting at the Manekshaw Centre. He will co-chair the 22nd India–Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) along with India’s Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh.
The ministerial meeting is expected to cover a wide range of issues, including bilateral defence cooperation, joint military production, technological collaboration, defence exports, training programmes, and future strategic requirements.
Minister of State for Defence Shri Sanjay Seth said, “This high-level meeting between India and Russia will further strengthen defence ties between the two countries and will give new momentum to cooperation in the defence sector.” He expressed confidence that the meeting would yield positive and long-term outcomes for defence collaboration.
India and Russia have been strategic partners for decades, with defence cooperation forming a strong pillar of their bilateral relations. This meeting is considered significant as it may lay down the roadmap for advancing several key defence projects.
