International Delegation Visits Chief Minister’s Residence, Discusses Development Initiatives





Ranchi :: An international delegation from Malaysia and Sri Lanka met Jharkhand Legislative Assembly member and Chairperson of the Women and Child Development Committee, Mrs. Kalpana Soren, at the Chief Minister’s Residence today. The meeting is being viewed as a significant step toward strengthening cooperation between Jharkhand and South Asian nations.




The delegation included Mr. M. Saravanan, Member of Parliament, Malaysia and Vice President of the Malaysian Indian Congress; Mr. S. Shritharan, Member of Parliament, Sri Lanka; and Mr. Senthil Thondaman, former Governor of the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka and currently the President of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress.



During the meeting, the representatives held detailed discussions on issues related to women and child development, protection of tribal communities, enhancement of education and healthcare services, and matters concerning the Indian diaspora. The delegation appreciated Jharkhand’s ongoing social initiatives, especially those focused on the welfare, safety, and empowerment of women and children.




Mrs. Kalpana Soren briefed the delegates about the state government’s priority programs aimed at women’s safety, child protection, nutrition, education, skill development, and overall social empowerment. She emphasized that learning from international experiences can help further strengthen Jharkhand’s development strategies.




The visiting delegates praised Jharkhand’s cultural diversity, tribal heritage, and social framework, expressing their interest in deeper collaboration and sustained dialogue in the future.



Rajya Sabha MP Mrs. Mahua Maji was also present on the occasion. She described the meeting as a positive and encouraging step for Jharkhand’s growing global engagement.
