Ranchi: The 18th National Kundukh Conference was held in Jharsuguda, Odisha, from October 24 to 26 under the joint aegis of the Kundukh Literary Society of India, New Delhi. The prestigious conference was attended by scholars, researchers, and students of Kundukh language from across the country.
On this occasion, Prof. Arun Amit Tigga from the Kundukh Department of JN College, Dhurwa, was honored with the Best PhD Award 2025 for his outstanding research work and significant contributions to Kundukh language and literature. The award was presented by the Kundukh Literary Society of India.
A total of 56 participants represented Jharkhand at the conference. Key participants included Jharkhand Chapter Chief and Prof. Dhirej Uraon of K.C.B. College, Bedo; Head of the Kundukh Department, Dr. Bande Khalkho of Ranchi University; Prof. Vikas Uraon of Doranda College; Prof. Blasius Panna of B.S. College, Lohardaga; Prof. Premchand Uraon of K.V. College, Gumla; Prof. Sushma Kujur of Mandar College; and research scholars Sukhram Uraon, Krishna Uraon, Jagdish Uraon, Lakshman Uraon, Ganesh Uraon, Lakhan Uraon, Amar Uraon, and Priyanka Uraon from Ranchi University. Students from various other colleges also attended the event.
The conference featured research presentations, seminars, and literary discussions. Participants shared their views on the preservation, development, and promotion of the Kundukh language and literature. Prof. Tigga’s research was especially appreciated for its in-depth study of the development of the Kundukh language and its contribution to modern literature.
After receiving the award, Prof. Tigga said, "This award is a proud moment for me and motivates me to pursue further research in Kundukh language and literature. It is a golden opportunity to bring recognition to Kundukh literature at the national and international level."
Certificates and letters of appreciation were presented to all participants at the conclusi of the conference. The event not only raised awareness about Kundukh language and literature but also provided a platform for Jharkhand’s researchers and students to showcase their talents.
