Ranchi:: The Jharkhand government has announced a scheme to provide interest-free loans to lamps-packs to strengthen them economically. Under this scheme, the state government will bear the interest on the loans. This information was shared by Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperation Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey during a review meeting of the Cooperation and Land Conservation Department held at Nepal House.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of computerization of lamps-packs. So far, around 1,500 lamps-packs have been computerized, while work on approximately 1,200 is ongoing. This year, about 1.3 million farmers have registered under the Birsa Crop Insurance Scheme. Approval has been sought from the central government for the Rabi crop insurance scheme.
The Minister highlighted efforts to promote Karanj oil, millet (Shri Anna), and honey production. In the fisheries sector, the government plans to provide market access in Kodarma, Bokaro, and Jamshedpur through the ‘Jhasko Fish’ initiative, ensuring fair prices and market facilities for producers.
During the review of the Land Conservation Department, special emphasis was laid on the ‘Birsa Pacca Check Dam Scheme’. This scheme is included in the current financial year’s budget and is expected to be implemented from January. Officials were also directed to expedite the paperwork related to the renovation of ponds.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Gopal Ji, Registrar of Cooperative Societies Shashi Ranjan, Director of the Land Conservation Department Ashok Samrat, Executive Director of JMTTC R.P. Singh, and other departmental officials.
