Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government’s much-talked-about Maiyaan Samman Yojana has completed one year since its launch. The scheme was initiated to empower and make women of Jharkhand self-reliant. Under this initiative, eligible women receive ₹2,500 per month directly in their bank accounts to help them meet their everyday needs.
As the scheme marks its first anniversary, the government is preparing for a comprehensive review. The review will focus on several key aspects—such as the number of women who have benefited from the scheme, those who are still left out, challenges faced in implementation, and necessary updates to ensure better service delivery. The aim is to further strengthen this initiative under the banner of women empowerment.
Initially launched in August 2024, the scheme started by offering ₹1,000 per month, which was later increased to ₹2,500. The government is now considering modifications in the eligibility criteria—like changes in age limit, income threshold, and improvements in the application process—to ensure wider and more accurate coverage.
13th Installment to be Disbursed Before Karma Festival
Ahead of the Karma Festival (to be celebrated on September 3), the 13th installment of ₹2,500 will be transferred to the accounts of all eligible beneficiaries. The Department of Social Security has already issued necessary instructions to all districts to ensure timely disbursement.
Over 50 Lakh Women to Receive Benefits
More than 50 lakh women across the state are set to receive funds under this scheme. In July alone, over 50.30 lakh beneficiaries were credited with the scheme amount. The government has asked all districts to complete the transfer process before the festival to ensure no delays in payment.
Payments Based on Guidelines and Verification
The disbursement of funds will be carried out strictly according to departmental guidelines. Beneficiaries must have an Aadhaar-linked single bank account, and the verification process for the scheme has already been completed. It is crucial that all personal information submitted in the application—such as Aadhaar and ration card details—is accurate and properly linked to avoid disqualification or delays
