Comprehensive Women's and Adolescent Health Campaign Launched from Koderma


Ranchi(Koderma)::The 'Swasth Mahila, Mazboot Parivar' (Healthy Woman, Strong Family) campaign was officially launched in Koderma district under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand. On this occasion, a district-level inaugural program was organized in which local MLA Dr. Neera Yadav and Deputy Commissioner Shri Rituraj were present as chief guests. The event began with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

"A Healthy Woman is the Foundation of a Strong Society" 

MLA Dr. Neera Yadav stated, “A healthy woman is the foundation of a strong family and a strong society. This campaign aims to ensure timely access to quality healthcare, nutrition, regular screening, and necessary treatment for women and adolescent girls. The government is fully committed to improving women's health.”

Deputy Commissioner Shri Rituraj mentioned that the campaign will run until October 2, 2025, across all healthcare centers in the district. During this period, health camps, awareness drives, and free diagnostic services will be conducted to provide comprehensive healthcare to women, adolescent girls, and children. He instructed all related departments to work in close coordination to ensure the success of the initiative.


Focus on Non-Communicable Diseases, Menstrual Hygiene, and Nutrition


Civil Surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar informed that the campaign primarily focuses on the screening, early detection, and treatment of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), anemia, tuberculosis (TB), and sickle cell disease. Other key focus areas include:
Maternal and adolescent health

‌Routine immunization
‌Menstrual hygiene awareness
‌Balanced nutrition and nutritional support
‌Mental health counseling
‌Lifestyle modification guidance
‌Promotion of voluntary blood donation

Integrated Approach Across Health Centers and Hospitals

The campaign is being implemented in a phased and integrated manner across the district, covering all Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), Sub-Divisional Hospitals, the District Hospital, and Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres. A holistic approach is being adopted to address the health and nutritional needs of women and adolescent girls.

Departments such as the Health

Department, JSLPS (Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society), Social Welfare Department, and the Women and Child Development Department have been directed to participate actively and collaborate for effective execution.

Launch of Chemotherapy Services and Distribution of Nutrition Kits

On this occasion, MLA Dr. Neera Yadav and Deputy Commissioner Shri Rituraj inaugurated chemotherapy services for cancer patients at Koderma Sadar Hospital by cutting the ribbon. With this facility now available locally, cancer patients will no longer need to travel to far-off cities for treatment. Nutrition kits were also distributed to several women during the program.

The event saw the presence of medical professionals, including doctors, specialists, AYUSH practitioners, ANMs, staff nurses, CHOs, MPWs, paramedics, yoga instructors, and healthcare workers from across the district.
