Special Guests of Independence Day Ceremony visit MDNIY

 Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) welcomed Special Guests of the Ministry of Ayush – on the eve of the 79th Independence Day. These guests were invited to acknowledge their contribution to IDY celebration on 21 June, 2025.

Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director, MDNIY in his address expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Govt. of India for inviting these guests in 79th Independence Day celebration. He stated, "Yoga has become a global phenomenon, thanks to the dedicated efforts of wellness experts. As Yoga originated in India, it is our responsibility to preserve and promote it in its true form and spirit.” He further added, "When discussing Yoga, we must address the holistic aspects of diet (ahara), lifestyle (vihara), and behaviour (achara-vichara)."

Dr. Samagandi also presented an extensive PPT of ongoing activities of the Institute. 

On this momentous occasion, Shri N K Kansara, Principal Consultant, Yoga Certification Board(YCB) highlighted the progress of YCB.  During the interactive session the Guests shared the progress and achievements in their respective fields. They also shared their insights on the relevance of Yoga in contemporary life.

Later a Farmer Delegation visited MDNIY, which was invited by Ministry of Ayush to acknowledge their contribution towards medicinal plants sector.

This delegation practiced short Yoga Module Y Break experiencing its benefits. This Y Break has already benefited 8.68 lakh govt emplyoees.

Both the delegations comprising over 350 Guests, were also taken on a guided tour of the Institute to familiarise them with its facilities, academic programmes, and ongoing initiatives.

Md. Taiyab Alam, C&DO, MDNIY and Dr I N Acharya, Programme Officer, MDNIY were present along with other faculty members and staff of MDNIY during the programme.

The event reflected the shared ethos of independence and the timeless values that Yoga imparts—overcoming the vices of the mind and leading a life of discipline, harmony, and service to the nation.

The visit of the special guests to MDNIY not only enriched the Independence Day celebrations but also served as a platform to promote the integration of Yogic principles into daily life, reinforcing the message of unity, peace, and national well-being.
