Food Street initiatives and Basant Mela to strengthen township engagement
With the expansion of Bokaro Steel Plant in the pipeline and plans to further rejuvenate the township, Bokaro is poised for integrated industrial and social development. Alongside capacity enhancement, preparations are underway to host a Full Marathon next year, reflecting a vision that balances production growth with community well-being.
Director In-Charge Priya Ranjan said the plant is firmly on course to achieve new production records, while safety remains the highest priority across all operations. He emphasized that industrial growth and township activities are being planned in close coordination to ensure sustainable and balanced development.
Referring briefly to the current marathon as a reference point, he said the next edition would be scaled up to a Full Marathon, organized on a much larger canvas through meticulous planning and collective team effort.
Highlighting township initiatives, Priya Ranjan said Happy Street–style community events are being planned in alignment with a dedicated Food Street, aimed at creating open, people-friendly spaces for recreation and social engagement. He added that the upcoming Basant Mela will be organized as a grand cultural event, contributing to the city’s social and cultural revival.
Officials believe that this integrated approach—safety-first production alongside vibrant township and cultural initiatives—will help Bokaro regain its stature as a progressive and dynamic industrial city.
