Bokaro: Marking the beginning of the New Year, Director In-Charge of Bokaro Steel Plant, Priya Ranjan, addressed employees with a clear and firm message — safety must remain the cornerstone of BSL’s progress and prosperity. Reflecting on the learnings from last year’s challenges, he urged employees to move forward with greater alignment, responsibility, and collective resolve to excel in the years ahead.
Highlighting BSL’s performance in 2025, Priya Ranjan said the plant not only set new benchmarks but also achieved significant milestones despite a challenging global environment. He noted that while external pressures persisted, the BSL team successfully maintained production stability and quality standards, and is now steadily aligning operations towards enhanced profitability.
Emphasising teamwork and family support, the DIC said the contribution of employees and their families plays a vital role in sustaining motivation and workplace excellence. He informed that the SMS unit achieved 110 percent performance, setting a new monthly crude steel production record, while the Tenughat water supply system was further strengthened to ensure operational reliability.
Priya Ranjan also underscored BSL’s role in national development, stating that the production of new steel grades under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the supply of steel to defence units reflect the plant’s growing strategic importance in nation building. On the digital front, he said BSL became the first unit in SAIL to adopt Oracle Fusion and Cloud Human Capital Management systems, simplifying HR processes and making them more effective and transparent.
Addressing sustainability, the DIC said green steel production and decarbonisation have emerged as prime focus areas to strengthen BSL’s global presence. He added that several initiatives were undertaken for the welfare of contract workers, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to inclusive growth.
Priya Ranjan further stated that major upgrades were made in the medical infrastructure of Bokaro General Hospital and township facilities last year, with continued expansion planned in the current year to improve healthcare and quality of life for employees and residents.
Concluding his address, the DIC placed the strongest emphasis on safety, calling for a zero-tolerance approach towards unsafe practices. He appealed to all employees to collectively work towards achieving zero accidents in 2026, stating that a strong safety culture alone can ensure a secure and bright future for Bokaro Steel Plant.
