Grand inauguration of the three-day Marwar Festival–2026 in the presence of the Governor
Ranchi: The three-day Marwar Festival–2026 commenced in a grand and dignified manner at the Marwari Bhawan under the joint auspices of the Jharkhand Provincial Marwari Conference and the Marwari Sahayak Samiti. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Gangwar, as the Chief Guest. The National President of the Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Conference, Shri Pawan Kumar Goenka, and National General Secretary Shri Kedarnath Gupta were present as special guests. The festival was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
On this occasion, Governor Shri Santosh Gangwar extended his best wishes and said that the contribution of the Marwari community has been inspirational and commendable not only in Jharkhand but across the entire country. He stated that the community is known for its rich culture, spirit of philanthropy, hard work, and social harmony. The Marwari community has always played a leading role in the fields of trade, industry, education, healthcare, and social service.
Addressing the gathering, National President Shri Pawan Kumar Goenka shared details about the social, educational, and service-oriented initiatives undertaken by the organization. He said that the conference is continuously working to unite society and preserve its values, culture, and traditions. National General Secretary Shri Kedarnath Gupta also spoke about the future plans of the organization.
Jharkhand Provincial Marwari Conference President Shri Suresh Chandra Agrawal, Senior Vice President Shri Lalit Kumar Poddar, and Shri Pawan Sharma also addressed the audience. The Chief Convener of the festival, Shri Arun Bhartiya, presented an overview of the three-day program. During the ceremony, the Governor and other distinguished guests were felicitated with bouquets, shawls, and mementos.
The program was presided over by Shri Suresh Chandra Agrawal. The event was conducted by Shri Pawan Sharma, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Vinod Kumar Jain.
On this occasion, noted social worker Late Shri Bhagchand Poddar was posthumously honored with the Jharkhand Samaj Ratna for his remarkable contribution to society. The Governor presented a shawl and a memento to his family members.
After the inauguration, the Governor visited the festival परिसर and appreciated the folk art, cultural exhibitions, and traditional handicrafts.
