Gig Workers Show Humanity, Zomato Ranchi Team Donates 17 Units of Blood




Ranchi: In view of the frequent shortage of blood in several government and private blood banks in the state capital, the Zomato Ranchi team of gig workers (delivery partners) took a commendable humanitarian initiative by organizing a blood donation camp. For the first time, gig workers of Zomato Ranchi organized a two-hour blood donation camp in collaboration with Lahu Bolega Blood Donation Organization, Ranchi at the Ranchi Sadar Hospital Blood Bank.



The camp was organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day with the objective of helping children suffering from blood disorders such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia, as well as victims of road accidents. A total of 17 units of blood were collected during the camp.
The blood donation drive was conducted under the leadership of Zomato Ranchi Team Leader Nishant Kumar Singh.



Those who donated blood included Nishant Kumar, Ritesh Rajput, Amar Patel, Ritek Kumar, Amulya Das Goswami, Vicky Yadav, Pritam Barman, Ashiq Ansari, Vikas Singh, Ashish Singh, Neeraj Chandravanshi, Raja, Jyoti Naha, artist Shabbir Hussain, Nadeem Khan, Shruti Devi, Sanjay Toppo, Suranjan Bada, Devki Devi, Sonam Kumari, Seema Devi, Sujata Kumari, Reena Kachhap and Binita Kachhap, among others. The organizers said that such initiatives would continue in the future.


On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Lahu Bolega Blood Donation Organization, Ranchi also honoured Ranchi Sadar Hospital Blood Bank In-charge Dr. Ranju Sinha, ANMs Anupriya and Priyanka from the Medicine Department, and Sujata Kumari, the mother of a thalassemia-affected child, by presenting them with mementos and ceremonial shawls.
