Officials say revival of Mangalam restores a key cultural and social landmark of BSL

The reopening of the erstwhile Russian Club at Sector 4C as Mangalam marks a significant step towards restoring a long-neglected cultural and social asset of Bokaro Steel Plant. The development was officially announced during a press conference held at the venue.

The press conference was led by TA Chief Kundan Kumar, COC M. K. Dhan, and senior officials, including Abhinav Kumar from the Public Relations department. Officials said the initiative brings back a key institutional space into active use while preserving the legacy identity of Bokaro Steel Plant.

As per the office order issued on January 19, 2026, Mangalam has been approved for hosting official, social, cultural, and personal events by employees of SAIL units, their guests, other PSUs, educational institutions, and government departments. The venue offers six rooms, a centrally air-conditioned auditorium with stage, green rooms and balcony, open areas, and combined booking facilities.

The tariff structure ranges from ₹1,500 per room per event for employees to ₹2 lakh per event for combined bookings by non-employees, excluding applicable taxes. Bookings will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis with advance payment, and detailed terms on cancellation, usage, and compliance have been notified.

Officials stated that the reopening of Mangalam is expected to strengthen community engagement and revive an important institutional asset of Bokaro Steel Plant.
