BSL Officer’s inspiring comeback turns pain into power
Bokaro, November 11 — Overcoming a serious leg injury and countless challenges, Shilpa Toppo, Assistant General Manager (Instrumentation & Automation) at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), has scripted a story of courage and triumph by winning gold medals in both the bench press and powerlifting categories at the Jharkhand Powerlifting Championship.
With no prior background in the sport, Toppo entered the field just a year ago. Through relentless practice, mental strength, and guidance from her coach, Debi Prasad Chatterjee, she rose above every obstacle to emerge a champion.
Starting with district-level competitions in 2023 and bagging two bronze medals in the 2024 state championship, Shilpa’s steady progress culminated in this year’s double gold victory.
BSL’s management hailed her success as a shining example of perseverance and empowerment, proving that true strength lies not just in muscles, but in the will to rise again.
