CM Soren Launches Education Reforms, Felicitates Toppers and Appoints Teachers

Ranchi – On Tuesday, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren distributed appointment letters to newly selected Post Graduate Trained (PGT) teachers and honored Class 10 and 12 toppers with the “Medha Samman” (Merit Award) during a special event held at the Project Building in Ranchi.

During the ceremony, students were awarded scooters, laptops, mobile phones, and cheques worth ₹3 lakh each. Apart from students from the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), toppers from other educational boards were also felicitated for their outstanding academic performance.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the state government is providing every possible support to students — ranging from financial aid to devices like laptops and mobile phones. In a significant announcement, he declared that girls will now be admitted to the prestigious Netarhat Residential School, a first in the institution’s history.
CM Soren emphasized that Jharkhand is the first state in India to offer scholarships for students pursuing higher education abroad. “If students take one step toward success, the government will help them move ten steps ahead,” he stated.
The event also marked one of the biggest recruitment drives in the state, with appointment letters handed over to newly appointed PGT teachers, assistant professors in mathematics and science, and laboratory assistants.
Prominent dignitaries present at the occasion included Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, and Labour, Employment & Training Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav.
