Veer Budhu Bhagat Jayanti to Be Celebrated on February 17 in Silagai

Ranchi: The 234th birth anniversary of legendary tribal freedom fighter and martyr Veer Budhu Bhagat will be observed with great respect and grandeur on February 17 at Silagai village in the Chanho block.



Ahead of the event, a meeting of the Veer Budhu Bhagat Memorial Committee was held on Saturday at the memorial premises in Silagai. The meeting was chaired by Jharkhand’s Agriculture Minister Ms Shilpi Neha Tirkey.


During the meeting, detailed discussions were conducted regarding preparations to ensure the smooth and successful organisation of thec  elebration . Arrangements related to the programme schedule, guest reception, stage construction, security measures, cleanliness, traffic management, and cultural performances were reviewed. Administrative officials were also issued necessary directions.



Speaking on the occasion, Minister Tirkey said that Veer Budhu Bhagat is a proud symbol of Jharkhand’s bravery and struggle against British rule. She noted that his sacrifice and leadership continue to inspire future generations.



The meeting was attended by senior officials, public representatives, and a large number of villagers. Local residents expressed their commitment to extend full cooperation in making the event a success through active community participation.


The committee decided that the Jayanti celebration will include a tribute ceremony, traditional dance and music performances, cultural programmes, and social awareness activities.
